http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p ... ost2709652
Dear all,

As both the Rift and Vive near release, we continue improving VR support. We have both CV1 and Vive Pre kits and we are doing our best to create a great VR experience in DCS.

Last week in fact we added the "laser pointer" mouse to interact with cockpits. When the pointer is over a cockpit interaction element, it will turn green. We also greatly improved the presentation of the menu UI to make it look nicer and more readable. We are also now using Rift release code 1.XX.

There are still a few areas we want to improve, but overall, I think y'all will will have a great time with it. We see VR as seastate change for seated simulation. I do all my DCS "fun time" in VR now. Be it Rift or Vive, both will provide a very immersive experience.

Thanks,
Matt

Final Release of DCS: F-86F Sabre

Belsimtek and The Fighter Collection are pleased to announce that DCS: F-86F Sabre has left beta and updated to release status today. Although the module is now feature complete, we will of course continue to tune the aircraft and fix any bugs that may arise.

Purchase from: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/ ... les/sabre/

https://youtu.be/oQeKRwFBafU

DCS: F-86F Sabre is a highly realistic simulation of the legendary American single-seat fighter jet F-86 Sabre, developed by North American Aviation. With more than 9,800 airframes of all versions built, the “Sabrejet” is the most-produced U.S. jet fighter in history. The aircraft took part in air-to-air combat, strike missions and surveillance. In addition to these roles, the F-86F Sabre was also used as a target drone and as a test bed for systems and weaponry. The aircraft became known to the public as the “MiG Killer” during the Korean War in the early 1950s. The F-86 was supplied to more than 30 countries and stayed in operational service until the early 1970’s. The different versions of the Sabre scored more than 900 aerial combat victories – more than any other jet fighter! The F-86F-35, the model simulated in DCS: F-86F Sabre, belongs to one of the latest series of the “F” modifications, and carries the sophisticated A-4 gunsight. Its armament includes six 12.7-mm M3 Browning machine guns, up to two 500-pound AN-M64 or 750-pound M117 bombs, up to 16 5” HVAR rockets and two GAR-8 air-to-air missiles.

Image

Since July 2014, when the Open Beta version of DCS: F-86F Sabre was offered for download, Belsimtek has undertaken great efforts to further improve the module. Since then, DCS: F-86F has received numerous improvements and is now much closer to the real F-86F-35! Our thanks go out to the enthusiasts – fans of this aircraft, who were directly involved in parts of the development process –, Belsimtek was able to take the DCS: F-86F Sabre to a whole new level. In particular, a lot of research went into recreating the original cockpit and associated systems to be much more accurate. In addition, a highly detailed 360+ page flight manual and nine training missions (the English missions will all receive voice-overs in the near future) are included. The flight dynamics were further developed and tuned so that now even advanced and critical regimes such as stall and spin are fully realistic. Using the original full technical documentation of the real F-86F Sabre during the development process, it was possible for the engine model and the flight dynamics to reach a very high level of accordance with the real flight characteristics of the aircraft.

The installation package includes both a quickstart and a full flight manual, in-game training missions in English and Russian language, and single combat missions. The quickstart manual enables the player to quickly learn basic procedures like take-off, landing and weapon usage without the need to delve deep into the full flight manual from the beginning.

Key Features of DCS: F-86F Sabre:
Unmatched flight physics that allow you to truly feel what it's like to fly this legend of the Korean War
Highly detailed, six-degrees-of-freedom (6 DOF) cockpit
Interact with cockpit controls with your mouse and other input devices
Accurate F-86F Sabre model, country markings, and weapons
Detailed modelling of the F-86F Sabre instruments, weapons, engine, radios, fuel, oxygen and electrical systems
Battle DCS: MiG-15bis in single and multiplayer games

Weekend Bundle Deals

This weekend we have a couple of bundle deals that include the DCS: NEVADA Test and Training Range map with both the F-86F and its nemesis the MiG-15bis.

DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst

We are now preparing to release the final version of DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst. Over the last several weeks, we have been reviewing all user feedback and addressing a numbers of bugs and areas that require refinement. The creation of interactive training missions is also underway which includes all the normal procedures for engine start, taxiing, takeoff, landing and combat employment.

We have also opened a Bf 109 K-4 skin contest that you can read about here: Bf 109 K-4 skins contest

Image

During the course of the competition, a number of interesting skins (including the skin variants of the aircraft captured by the Allies), have been created by you, the users. Well done!

DCS: Spitfire LF Mk.IX

Adjustment to the flight model of the Spitfire LF Mk.IX aircraft continue. As of late, most of our testing and refinements have focused on airframe, engine and propeller parameters in references to actual tests of the World War II aircraft at our disposal at The Fighter Collection.

Image

The flight tests carried out in the DCS World have shown that the Spitfire LF Mk.IX is a very easy and predictable aircraft to fly. An accurately implemented pneumatic system of the aircraft used for the brake and flap systems is particularly interesting. Earlier DCS World War II aircraft have not used such a system. Pilots of the DCS: Spitfire LF Mk.IX will be able to feel all the peculiarities of the pneumatics while taxiing and landing the aircraft.

DCS: Normandy 1944 Map

Image

Development of the specially created "DCS: Normandy 1944" map for DCS World War II continues its development at a fast pace. Currently, the main effort is focused on airfields with different types of surfaces (a first for DCS World). For example: we are implementing SMT (Square Mesh Tracks) surfaces, which were widely used by the Allies for temporary airfields in Normandy following the landings. We are also developing the possibility to place airfields on the map using the Mission Editor (another first for DCS World).

Belsimtek News

After the successful, final release of the DSC: F-86 Sabre and DSC: MiG-15bis modules, the Belsimtek team is now focused on bringing DSC: F-5E Tiger II to Early Access within the next month. In the meantime, Belsimtek continues to edit the F-86F Sabre English manual and prepare DCS: Mi-8MTV2 for its final release.

DCS: F-5E Tiger II Progress Update
Image

The external model is complete and includes several well-known color schemes.
The 3D cockpit is complete.
All aircraft systems are accurately simulated in high detail.
A new engine compressor model has been implemented based on accurate blade load calculations. The new model provides a very accurate simulation of compressor guiding unit functionality and an expanded range of engine operation modes (high and low compressor stalls and compressor operating in windmill mode).
The radar, optical sight, jettison system, gun use, launching of air-to-air missiles, air-to-ground rocket use, and flare and chaff countermeasures are integrated into the model and the aircraft's Weapon Control System (WCS). All the above-mentioned items are now operating as described in F-5E operations manuals.
The Professional Flight Model (PFM): operational range of altitude and airspeed, acceleration with various payloads and G loads (in sustained turns and at maximum angles-of-attack) are tuned based on available data of the flight dynamics of the real aircraft; the model behavior at critical angles-of-attack (stalling) and post-stall behavior (post-stall gyrations and spins) now match descriptions of the real aircraft.
Flight manual in Russian has been written.

Image

In order to present this module in for Early Access, several items will be in development during the Early Access period:
Adjustments to the operation of certain aircraft systems (for example: adjustment to pump capacity, hydraulic fluid mass-flow rates, electric grid loads, etc.)
Translation the flight manual to English. We take into account our mistakes during the development of previous modules.
Creation of the Quick Start manuals for both Russian and in English, based on the complete flight manuals.
